About the event
National Ethnic Arts is excited to welcome you all to the Arts in Progress recital Fall 2023 with a wonderful line up of artists Priyanka Raghuraman, Apoorva Sastry, Vaijayanthi Jagannathan, Spandan Rath and Krishna Dadawala, bringing their original work to life on November 4, 2023 5:30pm at 1948 Oak Park BlVD Pleasant Hill 94523
With Diwali right around the corner, join us as we explore Grand Epics of India through music, dance and theater. Diwali is a festival that represents light over darkness, good over evil - is celebrated as a Victory of Rama over Raavana in Ramayana, while in Mahabharata it is celebrated as the victory of Krishna over Narakasura.
Priyanka Says “There are innumerable life forms, each spectacular in its own ways that also call our planet it's home…”
Apoorva Says “I have picked three stories, two from the Mahabharata and one from The Ramayana depicting different kinds of sexual harassment faced by three different protagonists…
VJ and Team says “Mankind has always been in search of light, we have worked our way out of the waters and towards the sky, and yet search continues…”
We look forward to seeing you all gather to explore these themes along with us. We’ll have a Q&A Session at the end of the recital, where we can share our thoughts and feedback with the artists.
